Mahaffie Elementary School opened in the fall of 1991. We are one of 36 elementary schools in the Olathe School District. We have a student body of approximately 450 including pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students. We have 23 classroom teachers and an average class size of 18 students. Mahaffie is the proud recipient of The National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award 2021!
A commitment to educating all children is demonstrated by the high level of student, staff, parent and community involvement. Students are involved through the Mahaffie Leadership Team. Staff members work collaboratively on a variety of school improvement committees. Parents and community members are active participants on the school site council and PTO. Parents serve as VIPS Volunteers to actively engage with our staff and students.
